Wildfires, floods, hurricanes, and increased insurance costs are driving integration of physical climate risk into the assessment of portfolios and assets. Extreme weather events can impact the value of portfolios, while also serving as an additional input into identifying investment opportunities.

ICE Climate provides data and analytics that can help investors quantify the impacts their portfolios and investments face from physical climate risks posed by extreme weather events.

Key Features

  • Climate Risk Scores are derived using high resolution, global data on hurricanes, floods, wildfire, and temperature to derive 0-5 scores based on Annual Average Loss (AAL) metrics.

  • Value-at-Risk (VaR) estimates are developed for 1.6 billion global buildings and adapted for 10 million corporate asset locations. Climate value-at-risk (CVaR) metrics are produced in 5-year increments (from 2020 to 2060) for 3 different climate scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5) at Average Annual Loss, 100-, 200-, and 500-year return periods.
